The good news: You've met someone terrific on a dating site such as Match or Ok Cupid and are officially off the market. According to the BBB, some consumers with auto-renewing accounts complained that they didn't understand the steps they needed to take to cancel them.
Of the 2,500-plus complaints about dating services the Better Business Bureau received in 2015, many were about how difficult it was to cancel the service.
Today, 40 percent of singles have dated someone they met online, while only 25 percent met a first date through a friend.
Tinder isn’t only used for hooking up, as many seem to think.
In fact, forty-four percent of respondents who had success said that their experiences with online dating led to marriages or serious long-term relationships.
And Chemistry, a paid online dating site which touts its service to be focused on finding relationships (similar to e Harmony), received the second worst reader score at only 38.
However, online dating as a whole has a huge success rate by comparison.
(Tinder was second with a 52 rating.) Reader scores were evaluated by a number of factors, including messaging and search features, privacy settings, the ease of use and sign-up process, as well as quality and quantity of matches.
